I hope you all had a chance over the holiday to check out some of the incredibly informative documentaries I mentioned to help you begin your plant based journey. I would love to hear back from you about which one of these documentaries really hope to quick for you and why it can be your story for why you chose a plant based lifestyle. I know I mentioned before that “What the Health” is the one that really got me thinking, and from then my brain just took off and I had to see everything I could find. And then I specifically remember texting my husband and saying, “Hey, I learned so much stuff from this documentary that I just watched and I was wondering, would you consider going vegan with me?” At first he was like no, I don’t know, I mean I can try, there is a lot of doubt and no clarity. So I got him to sit down and watch this documentary that completely changed my view of what it was to put nutrition in your body, how you should be looking at the foods that are in your grocery stores, and it really sitting back and realizing where those words came from. At first he was like no, I don’t know, I mean I can try, there is a lot of doubt and no clarity. So I got him to sit down and watch this documentary that completely changed my view of what it was to put nutrition in your body, how you should be looking at the foods that are in your grocery stores, and it really sitting back and realizing where those words come from.At first, I was cooking completely plant-based meals just for me and still making regular foods for him and the kids until he said, maybe three weeks later, “I’m done, I’m with you, let’s do this and find a way to transition our 4 kids as well.
This made me so happy, I know how to partner who was in light ends and knew all of the facts, just like I did, and was willing to help me grow on this journey and supported everything I wanted to become as a new vegan, and there is still so much more to learn.
We will go to the grocery store together and start reading labels and we’re really surprised at how many products we found that were vegan and we stick to mostly the produce section and tried a lot of new things. One thing we didn’t know, because we were never aware, but in a lot of plant-based products, you will find that it is or has a lot of soy. There of been a ton of research studies on the benefits or bad things about soy, and I don’t particularly support so based products because from everything I’ve learned about sorry, it’s not exactly healthy for you although it’s a healthier alternative than meat, When you dive deeper you learn about how Monsanto has pretty much corrupted and took over the entire industry and made sure that soy is pretty much patented through them. We also learned that it caused us, personally, a lot of digestion issues if we consumed a lot of it. It’s really not even easy to find products that don’t contain sorry in the grocery store, but we’ve been really lucky enough to find products that are made out of P protein instead of soy protein and we normally stick with those.
You can very easily Google if so he is good or bad for you, and I am actually asked the question to people on Facebook who support a plant-based lifestyle, what they think of soy. I actually get very very good answers and some say that they eat the natural form that’s not processed, and still eat organic sorry now and then and not worry about it, but like I said, Once you start reading ingredients you will find that there so I mean oil or selecting or soy protein and so many items. Our house, we try to avoid it unless it’s a once in a while thing because it causes us a lot of digestive no discomfort when we consume too much.
So another product I wanted to share with you today was a protein supplement made out of pure protein, and I’ll share other products as well that are definitely tried and true by our family. When I first started my plant-based journey I used my ninja all in One to make a ton of smoothies and nutritional supplement shakes. When you’re first learning about how to do this it just seems so much easier to throw some fruit and veggies into a blender, or grab a scoop of a really tasty vegan supplement and blend it up and keep moving along with your day. I found an amazing organic and vegan brand to add to my smoothies that is full of nutrients and it tastes amazing. It gives your smoothie a hearty kick in that it makes it thick and keeps you full. When I first switched this lifestyle I could not get enough of this stuff. I definitely recommend you try it and check my other blogs for the best devices to whip up your favorite smoothies.
